David Chipfupa launched AfroSocial to create inclusive, empowering spaces for Afro-Caribbean professionals to connect, collaborate, and thrive. What began as a casual meetup has grown into a structured organization with over 4,000 members.
Vision Behind AfroSocial
David’s inspiration came from his own experience as a remote worker. While the flexibility was appealing, he found it isolating—especially as a Black professional. He noticed a lack of spaces that catered to Afro-Caribbean professionals outside of religious or nightlife settings. So he created AfroSocial to fill that gap.

FAQs
HOW OFTEN DO YOU HAVE EVENTS??
We usually have one or two events per month depending on location. Often we will have one professiona event after work and then a social event to keep things varied.
Where do you host events??
Our in person events are generally held in London, Birmingham and Manchester. We are also looking to host in new locations over the next year, both in the UK and overseas including Dubai and New York.

We run events across-industry networks and believe that having a diverse professional network is key to thriving in your career. Our events are open to ambitious career builders from all industries in a range of different cities.
